Giant Lantern Object for Michi-no-Eki Hirafuku

In April 2025, we created a giant lantern object for the roadside station Shukuba-machi Hirafuku (Michi-no-Eki Hirafuku) in Sayo Town, Hyogo Prefecture. The lantern was installed as a symbolic feature to coincide with the station’s renewal.

• Approximately 2 weeks (Work was carried out at a high pace to meet the renewal deadline.)

Making Process

• Cutting internal structures with a large CNC machining
• Attaching bamboo sticks
• Applying shoji paper (Thanks to the people of Hase Community Development for helping with the work!)
• Laser-cutting the characters and attached
• Painting
• Attaching decorative panels
